Job Description

This internship is in a great studio environment with amazing, inspiring, creative, fun team! We are looking for a person (or persons) with passion for Photography as well as Business/Marketing/Social Media. Possible growth to a paid position within the company.

The internship program cultivates a strong belief in bringing up the next generation of creative professionals. We harbor a team and family atmosphere. This is an environment where you are here to learn and build a skill set and portfolio pieces for your future goals.

The internship is not specific to photography, and in the past we have had interns who have moved on to positions in event planning, video production, set design, and more.

 

Some things you'll learn:

  • How to work in a professional photography environment
  • How to book and communicate with clients
  • How to set up lights for various kinds of shoots
  • Why lenses are important and which lens you should be using for each situation
  • Editing techniques and industry secrets
  • How to accurately price your work to fit the market
  • Posing subjects
  • How to create marketing layouts
  • How to create high quality photo albums
  • How to work with light and shadows (natural and artificial)
  • How to plan and organize shoots
  • Day to day tasks of a running studio and photography business 
  • How to create and manage a website
  • & much much more!!! :-)

 

Some tasks may include:

  • Managing social media
  • Managing/changing website  
  • Creating effective marketing layouts
  • Album making (we will teach you how to do this)
  • Studio assistant work (ie: gear organization, errands, studio maintenance, clean up)
  • Light post production work (ie: raw edits, image selection)
  • set design (painting backgrounds)
  • studio set up (lights, backgrounds etc.)
  • marketing
  • Opportunities to assist on weekday & weekend photo shoots, events and more!

 

 

Qualifications

Computer and Software skills desired:

  • Mac User
  • Some Photoshop
  • Knowledge of Adobe Lightroom or strong desire to learn

Skill Requirements:

  • Internet savvy
  • Skillful with Social Media (ie: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Blogging etc.)
  • Motivated
  • Organized
  • Professional
  • Flexible with daily tasks

  • Able to work independently
  • Owns reliable transportation (bonus if you live locally)

Additional Information

This is an unpaid position for college credit, lasting a full semester (sometimes longer depending on school requirements)
